Paul Mitchell FRPS - "Confessions of a Landscape Photographer"

An illustrated talk about how Paul researches and plans ahead before going on his landscape photography trips at different locations (coast, woodland etc.). He also gives an insight as to what techniques he uses when composing landscapes and the type of landscape images he would make under varying weather conditions. It also covers the type of software apps, filters and equipment he uses.

Member Paul Clark specialises in nightscape photography and will share his photos and techniques with us

Sue White will direct the session; offer advice on how to pose models, the use of lighting and choosing appropriate camera settings

"My Creative Journey" with Lynda Haney ABPE EFIAP DPAGB

Lynda is a member of the prestigious Wigan 10 club. She says "My inspiration comes, mostly, from the beauty and diversity of the natural world however I do like the challenge of photographing many diverse subjects. In general my main photographic interest is wildlife but I also enjoy using creative lenses to capture the natural world in a more abstract way

DECEMBER

North Yorkshire and South Durham (NYSD) Inter-Club competition Presentation

We will be sharing the Silver Salver (individual) prints from this competition

Competition Night No 2  - Judge:  Dave Coates ARPS, EFIAP/p, MPAGB, Northallerton

Glenys Garnett - Title to be decided

Glenys is a freelance photographer, artist and graphic designer from Wakefield. She says "I am often awed by the complexity of nature, the world around me and how it presents itself in form, shape, texture and a myriad of colours. My imagery reflects my view of the world and it is often abstract in nature".

JANUARY

Barbie Lyndsay MPAGB, EFIAP/s, FBPE - "Creative Photography"

Barbie is a photographic obsessive who currently works for a digital imaging company. Her love of photography covers every genre which has developed over the years. She judges and lectures nationally and internationally, as well as being a regular participant in exhibitions.

Caroline Preece - "Tools not Rules"

The objective of the talk is to introduce people to a different way of thinking about photography and composition. The talk is based on psychology and is about empowering people to make informed decisions as opposed to worrying about rules and whether to break them.

Dave Murrell "Carp Diem"

An eclectic view of his carp fishing - but don't worry, we're not trying to turn you away from photography into fishing! The fishing is a very loose main thread but will digress into project photography, which will cover several topics inspired by events and interests, interspersed with some short videos and some audience participation
