Paul Mitchell FRPS - "Confessions of a Landscape Photographer"
An illustrated talk about how Paul researches and plans ahead before going on his landscape photography trips at different locations (coast, woodland etc.). He also gives an insight as to what techniques he uses when composing landscapes and the type of landscape images he would make under varying weather conditions. It also covers the type of software apps, filters and equipment he uses.

Lynda is a member of the prestigious Wigan 10 club. She says "My inspiration comes, mostly, from the beauty and diversity of the natural world however I do like the challenge of photographing many diverse subjects. In general my main photographic interest is wildlife but I also enjoy using creative lenses to capture the natural world in a more abstract way

Glenys Garnett - Urban Abstracts
Glenys is a freelance photographer, artist and graphic designer from Wakefield. In this presentation she will introduce us to ideas and methods for creating interesting abstracts in the urban environment using both straight and multiple exposure photography. It’s all about learning to see in different ways by concentrating on key elements like shapes, form, structure, lines, texture etc. to develop an ‘abstract eye’.

Barbie Lyndsay MPAGB, EFIAP/s, FBPE - "Creative Photography"
Barbie is a photographic obsessive who currently works for a digital imaging company. Her love of photography covers every genre which has developed over the years. She judges and lectures nationally and internationally, as well as being a regular participant in exhibitions.

The objective of the talk is to introduce people to a different way of thinking about photography and composition. The talk is based on psychology and is about empowering people to make informed decisions as opposed to worrying about rules and whether to break them.

An eclectic view of his carp fishing - but don't worry, we're not trying to turn you away from photography into fishing! The fishing is a very loose main thread but will digress into project photography, which will cover several topics inspired by events and interests, interspersed with some short videos and some audience participation

Chris Upton - "Simply Black and White"
Chris Upton is a professional photographer, based in Nottinghamshire , specialising in Travel, Landscape and Social Documentary photography. He says "In these digital days I am increasingly drawn towards the simple beauty of monochrome which strips away the confusion of colour and asks us to appreciate the light, tone, texture and detail in our images".

Clare is a Scottish wildlife photographer and a member of the Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers.

This will be an evening for members to bring their cameras; various props will be provided. The evening will be led by Jane Morris Abson who has been doing a course on still life through the RPS.
