Simon Sugden - "Beauty in Decay"

Simon Sugden ​ is a Yorkshire photographer based just outside Keighley. He's been doing photography now for over 10 years with a passion for landscapes, urban decay and architecture amongst other things. He loves to explore up and down the country in his search for capturing new images, whether it be a stunning view or the interior of an old and abandoned building. He finds a certain kind of beauty to the decay of old buildings that are forgotten or ignored and often overlooked.

This talk will be via Zoom with video.

Jane Morris Abson and Helen Addison - Preparing images for print and mount cutting

This will be a members' night aimed at helping those interested in printing their images and submitting prints into competitions

Jane is President of Chorley Photographic Society and an Awards for Photographic Merit assessor for the PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain).

Tony North ABPE MPAGB- "Scapes - Rural, Coastal and Astro"

Tony North is a photographer based in Manchester. In this talk he showcases the best of his more traditional landscapes and provides a few tips and techniques, especially for the more challenging genre of astrophotography. He also relates a few anecdotes about the locations and experiences of shooting the scenes. In addition as he goes along he will discuss what he sees as the main challenges of landscape photography and how he overcomes them.

Tom is an award winning Light Painting Artist from Newcastle upon Tyne and a Light Painting Paradise Ambassador, best known for complex orbs and organic freehand designs. This will be in person with a half session practical demo.

We will be sharing the Silver Salver prints from the North Yorkshire and South Durham Inter-Club competition

North Yorkshire and South Durham (NYSD) Inter-Club prints

We will be sharing the inter-club prints from this competition, giving members a chance to view and comment on the actual prints.

Peter Caton - "Unyielding Floods"

Peter is a documentary photographer with a social conscience.  In 2020 Peter started a project that would see him document the unyielding floods of South Sudan.  The photographic intensity of the work led to publications in major news outlets including the Sunday Times, The Guardian etc.  Peter has won numerous awards for this body of work.

FEBRUARY

David Tolliday - UK Wildlife Photography"

David has been interested in wildlife for as long as he can remember and his first ever wildlife photograph was of a chaffinch taken with his dad's camera.  The most pleasure he gets from wildlife is just sitting, watching and listening.  However whilst primarily a wildlife photographer, David is also a member of Macclesfield Camera Club and enjoys all forms of photography.

This talk will be in person.

Mark Reeves - "Creative Landscapes"

Mark considers himself primarily a landscape photographer.  Almost all his work is made outdoors and he is equally happy working in our wilder places; in the mountains or on the coast, as he is in the cities and other built environments.  As a general rule he enjoys finding creative or stylised ways of portraying what he sees, rather than making literal representations.

This talk will be via Zoom.
