4th April - The AGM

Part of the AGM is the election of officers of the club. There are a number of vacancies for next season and the committee hopes that there will be volunteers from the membership to take on these roles. Chairman: David Boath to step down. Jane Morris Abson has put her name forward for this role.

28th March - Annual Competition Results with Stephen Byard

As the season draws to a close, we arrive at the last competition of the season, the Annual. In the club class last year, Geoff Freeman romped away with both the DPI and the print competitions, while in the Advanced Class, honours were shared between Gordon Scott and Ken Hadfield winning the print and DPI competitions respectively. Will it be a one horse race this year? Will the honours be shared in both classes? With Stephen Byard judging, it's going to be an entertaining night.

21st March - Impressions of Bali - Jane Black ARPS, FPSA, Hon. PAGB

We welcome Jane Black back again to the club for a talk on her travels to Bali. After over a quarter of a century of dedication to the RPS, Jane is one of the most respected names in the photographic community. Her love of travel and photography has been her passion for many a year and as she says herself, "I have been involved with photography all my life either practicing it or organising it. My other great love is travel to try and satisfy a great curiosity about the world and its people. Travel and a camera are great partners." Take your seats ladies and gentlemen for an entertaining evening!

Secret Snowdonia 2 - blog post

Wow! It doesn't seem like a week has passed since we were on our way home from our Snowdonia workshop, staying at the lovely Elen's Castle Hotel in Dolwyddelan. Ok, the weather may not have been brilliant but is typical of the area in winter. I've written a blog and posted it on the website. Perhaps you might like to join us on our next workshop - new locations in the planning. http://www.richmondcameraclub.co.uk/secretsnowdonia2 (image by Trevor Thurlow LRPS of Wrysgan quarry incline top)

14th March - Another Evening with Gordon Scott

Following on from last weeks portrait session at Gordon's Studio in Darlington, he wil now demonstrate his processing techniques using images taken by members on the night. A fascinating night ahead for everyone.

7th March - A Visit to Gordon Scott's Studio in Darlington

A special treat for our next meeting as Gordon Scott invites us to his studio in Darlington. With a model and MUA on hand, Gordon will demonstrate how to setup the lighting to create studio style portrait images. The theme for the evening is "Burlesque", so it's going to be well worth attending

1st March - Video of the Month

I was thinking that since it was St David's Day I wold post a link to a video from Wales, but have opted instead for a recent video from Robin Whalley again; this time in the Peak District. The Roaches is definitely one to pt in your diaries for a summer outing trip with the camera club!

3rd - 6th March Secret Snowdonia 2

Once again, John and Sylvia have arranged a three day workshop in and around John's home town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. Along with John and Sylvia four members of the camera club will explore the quarries, castles, lakes and a certain 'lone tree' that's very popular at the moment. John has arranged everything from the locations to the hotel. There's talk afoot of another workshop being planned for late Autumn in the north-west of Scotland. Speak to either John or Sylvia at the club if you're interested in going. I think there might be a lot of interest in this one, so get your names down fast as spaces are limited.
